How it works
Membership Requirements
- Purchase one share of stock for $10.00
- Pay a refundable $20.00 deposit
- Perform a four hour work shift every four weeks
- Attend the annual stockholder’s meeting
Work Commitment
Each member household is responsible for working one 4-hour shift per month. Work schedules are flexible; we have both day and evening hours. Any adult member of the household may perform the work. Children are welcome to accompany their parents. Examples of shifts include meeting/unloading the truck, packing orders, stocking shelves, cashiering, recycling, cleaning, and beyond.
Shopping
Members order products or shop in the store every other week on Thursday and/or Saturday when the co-op is open. Thursday hours are 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday hours are 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Products are sold to members at cost + 15% + sales tax as applicable.

- Black Bear Bakery – Worker-owned and -operated bakery located on Cherokee Street in Saint Louis. Freshly baked bread and all manner of baked goods from savory to sweet. Whenever possible, they use local, organic ingredients!
- Blue Heron Orchard – Organic orchard located 150 miles north of Saint Louis, in Canton, Missouri. Crisp, delicious apples at the peak of their season!

- Harr Farms – Fresh, local meat and eggs from free-runnin' chickens.
- New Roots Urban Farm – Small organic farm located one mile north of downtown, in the St. Louis Place neighborhood. Delicious sunflower shoots!
- Our Garden – Super-friendly family farm located about 90 miles from Saint Louis in New Florence, Missouri. A great selection of chemical-free, fresh produce!
- Ozark Forest Mushrooms – A family-owned shiitake log farm located in the Missouri Ozarks Big Springs region. Delicious, fresh, organic Missouri mushrooms!
- Ray's Gourmet Salsa – Chemical- and preservative-free salsas made about 12 miles north of downtown Saint Louis, in Spanish Lake, Missouri. So fresh and delicious!
- Sand Hill Farm – Organic farm and intentional egalitarian community located in Rutledge, Missouri, about 180 miles north of Saint Louis. Delicious honey, sorghum, tempeh, and more!
